Fun time on the water

Went on the Bateaux New York dinner cruise with some friends last month. It was a really nice evening, the food was good and the views of the city lights were just amazing. We had a great time hanging out and enjoying the atmosphere. Super chill experience overall.

Reliable tours as usual

I've used City Experiences a few times now for various tours, and this time I booked a harbor tour in Boston. Like my previous experiences, everything went smoothly. The tickets were ready, the boat left on schedule, and the commentary was informative. It's consistent service, which is why I keep coming back when I need a good tour.

Best vacation experience!

Oh my goodness, the Niagara City Cruises were absolutely fantastic! I can't even describe how amazing it was to get so close to the falls, you really feel the power. The boat ride was exhilarating and the views were just breathtaking. I had such a blast. I'm already planning another trip back to do it again!

Good value on the ferry

I booked the Statue of Liberty ferry for my family. The price was fair for what you get, especially compared to other options. It saved us a bit of money and the kids really enjoyed seeing Lady Liberty up close. Definitely felt like I got my money's worth.

Nice cruise, small issue

We did a lunch cruise on the Spirit of Chicago. The food was decent, nothing spectacular but perfectly fine for a buffet. The views from the boat were great, and the staff were attentive. My only minor gripe was that finding parking near the departure point was a bit more challenging than I expected, took a few extra minutes. Otherwise, it was a pleasant afternoon and a good way to see the city from the water.

Detailed review of Alcatraz tour

I booked the Alcatraz City Cruises tour online a few weeks ago. The booking process was straightforward on their website, and I received an email confirmation right away. Getting there was easy, and the ferry departed on time. The staff on the ferry were friendly and the ride over was smooth. Once on the island, the audio tour was very informative and well-produced, giving a good sense of the history. The facilities on the island were clean, and there were plenty of signs to guide visitors. It was a well-organized trip from start to finish, and I appreciated the clear instructions provided before arrival.

Hey guys, thinking about booking that Alcatraz tour for next month. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get the tickets after you book online? Trying to plan my trip to SF.

E Elena Nguyen 1 month ago
Mine were pretty much instant. Got the email with the tickets right after payment.

Yeah, same here. I did the Statue of Liberty one and they came through right away as e-tickets. You just show your phone at the gate, no need to print.

Does anyone know if City Experiences does a student discount for their sightseeing tours? Trying to save a few bucks on the DC one.

J Julia Carter 2 months ago
I think they do sometimes. I'd check their specific tour page or contact them directly, it's not always advertised upfront.

Yeah, I remember seeing something about student pricing on their site last year. Definitely worth checking before you book, could save you like 10-15%.

Quick question about the dinner cruises, specifically the Bateaux in NYC. What's the deal with the dress code? Is it super fancy or can I get away with smart casual?

D Dana E. 1 month ago
They usually say 'business casual' or 'cocktail attire'. I wore a nice dress, my husband had a collared shirt and khakis. No shorts or t-shirts, you'll feel out of place.

I went on one in Chicago. It's definitely not black tie but you want to look decent. Like, don't show up in sneakers and jeans. Think a nice restaurant vibe.

Is City Experiences the same as Hornblower? I'm confused because some of the tours I'm looking at have both names on them.

C Chris F. 1 month ago
Yeah, it's basically the same company now. Hornblower kinda rebranded or consolidated under City Experiences.

Hornblower is part of City Experiences. So if you see either name, it's from them.

Are City Experiences tours usually wheelchair accessible? Thinking about taking my grandma on a harbor tour in Boston and want to make sure it's doable.

M Megan S. 2 months ago
Most of their boats and tours are pretty good with accessibility. I'd recommend calling their customer service for the specific tour you're looking at, just to be 100% sure.

I've seen people in wheelchairs on their cruises, especially the bigger ones. They usually have ramps and accessible restrooms. Always good to confirm though.
